Rampager Bash Report
25 September, 2005 Tennessee Titans
at Saint Louis Rams, Edward Jones Dome
What a great weekend! We arrived in Saint Louis at 1:30 AM Saturday
morning and got home around 1:00 AM last night. It rained all day
Sunday but I didn't mind.
Saturday was a nice lazy day. Arriving so late, we did not do much
Saturday. I visited with my friend Mark & his family, went out
for a little Rams shopping, then ran over to Jake's Steaks for dinner.
It's so great seeing the ClanRam and Rampager people. I am so bad
with names that it's embarrassing and I have a hard time just walking
up to stranger. I guess I should know that we're not strangers -
we're family - but it's still hard. I spent time chatting with Brad
from Mississippi, his quiet daughter, and wonderful wife. Then I
visited with Dez & Moira and Scott Richmond who always has the
coolest jerseys. I met Lydia from Syracuse, New York and other people
whose names I don't remember. Man, I hate that but I do love the
great people on this list. I got details on Sunday's tailgate and
had to leave for my friend's birthday party (we were late and I
hated having two places to be on one night).
Sunday morning started with us slowly getting to the tailgate.
We got up, threw around the football, then headed to the tailgate.
The rain did not damper our spirits but it did affect our tailgating.
Mike Kaelin (RollaRam) had it all ready and I met Paul from Sioux
Falls for a second time (I forget we had met). The tailgate was
great and I'm so very thankful for Mike and Sarah for working on
our behalf. They are so kind to do that for others. (Did I mention
I love the people?)
The game was amazing. Arriving drenched from our walk in the rain,
we found our seats. Marsha headed to the 400 level and I headed
to the 100 level. Before you wonder why I made her suffer, listen
to this: Dez hooked my wife & youngest daughter up with 2nd
row tickets on the 40-yard line (thanks so much, Dez!). She had
better seats than I!
The game had me disappointed (0-10!), ecstatic (Arch, you rock),
enthusiastic (24 unanswered points), worrisome (Titans tie it at
24?), optimistic (can you remember the last time we scored 31 points!),
worrisome (not another potential game-winning drive as time runs
off the clock), then relieved (saved by the D! I love it!).
The postgame was amazing and my daughter and I shared a magical
moment (see below and like Visa says "Priceless") and
we met up with the rest of my family for the wet walk home. The
downpour of rain did not affect me. Sure, I was wet but I was wet
in Saint Louis after seeing a great game and we were carrying game
programs and Marshall Faulk's hat. Seriously, can it ever get better
than that?

2005 Postgame Bash Report
The
Saint Louis Rams had just beaten the Tennessee Titans 31-27 and
the players were leaving the field. Our seats for the game were
in the section above where the Rams enter & exit the field.
I knew players would sometimes throw their gloves or wristbands
to the children fans in the stands. I thought Samantha would enjoy
seeing that happen and if she was lucky, maybe get a glove herself.
Samantha went down to stand where the players enter & exit the
field. Some players were off the field and Samantha came back to
me with red eyes and tears. Read the
full report with pictures.
